Kyra Minturn Sedgwick is a well-known American television and big-screen actress. The actress is a household name across the world, and in particular America because of her leading role in the TV The Closer's series. Sedgwick was first interested in the artistic arts, Broadway, and acting as she reached the age of 12 old. Her introduction to Broadway through her mother who was a Broadway enthusiast. Sedgwick received her first professional role when she was 16 years old in the television show "Another world". The first TV roles she had were small, but Sedgwick was attracted to becoming an established actress. She got noticed on the big-screen for the first time with her supporting role in the movie 'Born on the Fourth of July', where she co-starred alongside Tom Cruise. Sedgwick continued to get parts as she became an instant hit with this film. There were other films like : Singles, Heart and Souls and Phenomenon. Her husband, actor Kevin Bacon met her in the TV film "Lemon Sky.. He and she got married at the age of 22. Sedgwick was an incredibly popular actress in American television for her outstanding role in "The Closer", a seven-season TV series that earned her the Golden Globe Award and Emmy.
